Abstract
This paper presents an outline of the philosophical underpinning of the concept of Physical Literacy and proposes a definition for the concept. Following this brief outline the paper looks at the relationship between Physical Literacy and Physical Education and considers some of the the implications of adopting Physical Literacy as the goal of Physical Education.
