IPLA addresses Change The Game annual conference in Umea, Sweden

IPLA was delighted to be invited to open Change The Game (Sweden)’s annual conference in Umea last month (September 2024) www.changethegame.se

The focus of the conference was on the promotion of “Quality Movement Experiences” as a tool to develop better health, create more dynamic public spaces, improve social capital and increase general wellbeing.

The two-day event covered a multitude of topics, including practical sessions, theory workshops and engaging presentations, all of which used physical literacy informed practice as a common thread.

The event included input from Sweden’s minister of public health, and IPLA was honoured to join a subsequent round-table with the minister to consider how and why a physical literacy approach could support Sweden’s wider agenda.

In his conference-opening presentation, IPLA Vice Chair, Trevor Smith sought to raise awareness of the contribution that physical literacy can make to many areas of national and international policy and strategy. Please follow the links below to watch our IPLA team in action:
