Physical Literacy and its importance to every individual.
Margaret Whitehead

The paper has two sections. The first looks at the concept of Physical Literacy, its roots in philosophical thinking and the support for the concept from cognitive scientists and sociologists. This demonstrates that Physical Literacy is an attribute open to, and important for, every individual. The second section considers the implications of these views to the practice of physical education for all young people.
